Municipal elections, 9–10 October 2026

If you are a citizen of another EU country and you live in Roztoky, you can vote for the town council – the people who decide about the schools, traffic, construction and the town budget. You don’t need Czech citizenship. But there is one step you have to take first, and it has a deadline.

Who can vote

• you are a citizen of another EU member state,
• you are at least 18 years old on 10 October 2026,
• you are registered in Roztoky for permanent residence or temporary residence.

Senate elections take place on the same days, but those are for Czech citizens only. You will receive the ballot for the town council.

The one step: ask to be added to the voter list

EU citizens are not added to the Roztoky voter list automatically. You have to ask to be entered in the dodatek stálého seznamu voličů (the supplement to the permanent voter list).

Deadline: Wednesday 7 October 2026, 4:00 p.m.

In person at the town hall (Městský úřad Roztoky, Nám. 5. května 2), during office hours. Bring:

• your ID card or passport from your home EU country,
• your Czech residence document – certificate of temporary residence, or permanent residence permit.

Or in writing – by post, through a data box (ID: ticbbnc), or by e-mail with a recognised electronic signature. State your name and surname, date of birth, your address in Roztoky, and that you are applying for entry in the dodatek stálého seznamu voličů.

If you miss the deadline

Go to your polling station anyway and bring your ID and your residence document. The polling committee can add you to the list on the spot once you prove you are entitled to vote in that district. It works, but it takes time and depends on documents you must have with you – doing it in advance is safer.

Where do I vote?

Not wherever you like. Your polling station is determined by your address – you vote in the district you live in. Roztoky has seven polling districts, with polling stations at the Chateau, the library, the Roztoky primary school, the town hall, the Žalov school and the Cihelna school. The list of addresses and the map of the districts is on the town website: volební okrsky.

When

• Friday 9 October, 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
• Saturday 10 October, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Bring an ID document with you to the polling station.
